Uncommon Tower of Power

President Dwight D. Eisenhower
An uncommon tower of power --
   Softly he spoke and unerringly
   Used military force sparingly

Ike was such a wonderful role model. He understood the power of the military, but we never had to fear he might misuse it by doing something insane during a rage. I am glad you have honored him in your clerihew.

You are so right... I like(d) Ike a lot---better than any of his successors. Thanks for the feedback. :) gw

Thanks, Ilene. Very simply: "I like(d) Ike." ... Where is our Ike of today when this nation needs a voice of reason so badly? Ah, he'd be drowned out by all the Vexing Voices of Viciousness who dominate America now… Oh, well. Thanks again. ~ Gershon
