Uncle Sam

As I grew up there was a man that every body knew
he was every body's family we all called him uncle too

I don't know from which side of our family that he came
but I knew that he was kin Uncle Sam was his name

He was on posters every where and everyone knew his face
then one day he just went away I guess to some other place

I never heard of him passing away or leaving the country or such
no one talks of him any more I guess we don't miss him so much

Now I look in the post office the grocery and every where else in town
can anyone tell me or do you know what happened to our uncle Sam
