Unborn Sonnet
Are you a child through and through?
Is your heart filled with joy?
Are you happy with all that is you?
Are you a little girl or boy?
What wonderful things will you find?
What adventures will take you away?
What happy thoughts run through your mind?
What fun little games will you play?
Is your heart filled with glee?
Do you have lots of laughter?
Are you happy with what you see?
Do you have a happily every after?
Do you feel the love we give?
Do you know the joys of life?
Is it good, the way you live?
Will you love us in sickness and strife?
Do you know what you'll mean to us?
Do you know when you'll be born?
Will you be happy or make a fuss?
Will you be unique like a unicorn?
Whatever you are, know that we love you,
Whoever you'll be and however you'll act.
We'll always love you, as all parents do,
Because you'll be our most special contact.
