Unborn Dream

For as long as I can remember,
I've dreamed of loving you,
and what it would be like,
to watch you as you grew.

I've dreamed of us doing many fun things,
riding bikes, eating ice-cream, playing hide-and seek,
I will chase you around the park,
tickling your laughing body to the ground.

I've dreamed of your beautiful face,
those sweet, little smiles that'll brighten my days,
while you're singing the A-B-C's,
playing with your ducky in the tub.

I've dreamed of holding you in my arms,
rocking you to sleep,
as I whisper, "I love you, my baby,"
giving you kisses on the cheeks.

For as long as I can remember,
you have always been in my heart,
even though you haven't been born yet,
becoming your parent will be my life's greatest part.
