Unbending

patience thinned by midnight
As my mind drifted along, feeling bleak
Wiping hours with restless air in dimmed light
Not a robin cooed through skyline's mystique

Finding unrest from a breeze in dull shade
Where time slept with eyes open, a pale flow,
A peasant beside me smiled like glittered jade
Changing my with me in hours between wrong and right; when confessions are murmured upon this life half done,
that past mid-life, I ask for reprieve to settle unsolved desires those which enable my fears
Choking of seasons' absence-
 Northwinds may be cold ,
cruel but now I hold
eventide's fire
with passion unbending

Once again you astound with messages of wisdom woven through superb images. "Time slept with eyes open"...what a great line.

It takes the meek to concern a lost soul, through ruffled hair touch, he's reached his goal. Poetry with message, that I like, James :)

When and where from nice thought will come out no one knows and it's practically realized by me that sometimes it comes from a clue of a word also and from a circumstantial phenomena. Excellent job done here, my lovely friend. Loved always, bl

you exposed the kindness in your soul with this poem and for that I'm filled with joy, "through their own words you shall know them."..a quote from the book of Frederic my poetic friend....and Dave is right about that line..

An "eye opening moment " with startling images, Ms. Poet of the Soul. Had a pleasant time writing for your contest. Thank you for motivating me!

this is a rare sonnet from you, nette (I have sonnetphobia - never written one! lol) for me, this is you writing at your absolute best, when you blend striking imagery with down-to-earth reality - exactly the sort of poetry I like to read! :)
