Unattainable
She comes into view
And my heart launches a tantrum
That bombards my ears.
My knees buckle,
My strength crumbles
To nothing but dust
At the smile most gracious
And the sweet, sweet voice
Like a mermaid's song.
If she so much as touches
I might die,
At the very least, go mad.
I lunge yet cannot reach,
I reach yet cannot touch,
I crave yet cannot have.
Spare me the thirst,
Yet burned is this moment
Forever in my mind.
The purpose most unattainable
Is defined.
