Ultimate Resentment

telling me how to dress and behave
how to walk and talk
telling me who I can make a friend
and who I can’t
I listened because I wanted to please you
Your pouting ways kept me fearful and compliant
now I despise myself for relinquishing my power to you

And, rightly so; however, I say pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and take back your awesome power!

I see women all the time who spend their days trying to satisfy a pouty, whiny man who gets angry over nothing, to control them. It is frightening.
