uh huh or oh no
I am on the phone pretending to listen
the speaker drones on and on and on and on
I have heard all of her sad sack stories before
same hum drum, bore snore stories
I don’t even know these people
Mostly neighbors she spies on from a front window
Every once in a while, I say “uh-huh” or “oh no”
This keeps the chatter rolling
