Two Sides

Two Sides

Way down Deep Inside My Heart
There's a Thing That Lives and Breathes.
No One Should Ever See It....
It's the Other Side of Me.

Oh, Yes I Know It's True.
It Happened Just One Time.
The Other Side Came out
And Oh, How it Did Shine!

My Other Side Has No Emotion;
Feelings Cause Too Much Pain,
So I Took a Small Vacation,
To Rest and Hide My Shame.

One Day I Felt Much Better
Now the Other Side Hides in My Heart.
The Only Time I Need That Side..
Is When My Life Is Torn Apart.

Hi, Connie; I know I, for one, can relate to the dichotomy of the self, to the "evil twin" we all have inside us, which can sometimes act as a defense mechanism. This piece very much resonated with me; great job :)
