Two Shoes

Propped up against the wall
two shoes, neatly placed there
laces intact, leather shiny as new
multiple holes in both their soles
disparity in presentation,
 so what is their truth?

Perhaps, A Poem about Deceiving Grand Display of The Partly Faulty as though Faultless; On a deeper level, a comment on Life as The Imperfectly Perfect.

Hmm, I have holes in my soles - this rhymes and they're there. Oh, they're there! Thanks for the thoughts, Judy.

I loved this one Judy. I wrote a similar poem about my late husband and me called ‘two pairs of shoes.’ I agree with Jennifer here Judy. I was thinking the same thing. Blessings xxoo

People look and act as if all is well but it's anything but well. I like how you use the shine in shoes to represent their outer selves but the holey soles as their inner, broken selves. So much said in such a short poem. Well done Judy!

This reminds me, people won't fully understand the truth of a situation unless they've walk in your shoes. I LOVE this
