Two Sapling Oaks

Two sapling oaks in early spring
Soft sage color their tender leaves wave
                                                                               Light reflects

Verdant leaves intertwine in summer
Their bond has stood the test of time
                                                                              Limbs reach next

Their leaves of brilliant autumn color
Have reached past their prime, fall
                                                                               color specks

When winter comes, and twisted limbs fall
The light shines through and reaches brush
                                                                                   glow projects

Hi Sara, from the gnarled roots, new shoots will come when spring begins. Their lush green color is so very arresting. Enjoyed reading your poem and seeing the image

I like how you have played around with falling after prime and Fall as a season. Really great form choice, and you have pulled it off!

Nicely done , Sara. It might look different by computer but on my phone , the lines are split apart making it a bit hard to read. Are you using large indentations?

Andrea, yes, I did a step kind of look. I did not know that anyone would be reading the poems on their phone/s. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Very lovely Sara, and touching. The seasons pass, and time rushes on, but there is newness in the cycle of time. This poem is a beautiful work of art.

Thank you, Howard. I see I need to make a change in one line that should rhyme and doesn't. Thanks for the high praise. Sara K

Sara, your poem is a solid piece of work that successfully captures the beauty of nature's cycle and the fleeting nature of life.
