Two Prayers of Praise

Oh God, I attend thy church proudly Secure in my self-righteous pew I sing and recite to thee loudly A few hours, then I bid thee adieu ----------------------------------------- Oh God, I pray make me humble I bow before Your ageless might I grope and I fumble and stumble Searching for Your Divine Light Matthew 6: 5-6 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you"

We can always tell the true believers from the hypocrites, Tim. Enjoyed the poem's spiritual quality and liked the message beneath it as well! Good luck in Gail's Contest. (I could not edit our co-write, so I had to enter it as is in Vie's contest. Apostrophes have been banned. :D ) Best wishes in Gail's contest. True prayers and blessings, Carolyn

Striking attack to the theme but these somehow the truth some pray with so much loudness but seeing their hearts and souls only flaws and nothing but fraud ness.. Only our God can see the heart.. In silence and loudness of our prayers the most important is we are praying in spirit and truth..... The sincerity and application of our prayers will clearly lead us in Finding God in the midst of everything.. God bless you Tim..:)

There are allot of verses in the. Bible that permits loud prayers, worship and praises yet it do emphasize the sincerity and pureness that must be incorporated within these acts.... As it says in Ephesians... In spirit and truth..:)

Yes, there are some who love to pray loudly and proudly. I don't know. Some of the TV evangelists strike me as a bit "off" this is a very good approach for that contest, Tim.
