Twisting Road

The walk along the road, Full of twists and turns, Woods on either side, Around the corner yet more road, He has walked this rought many times, It always seems never ending. No cars no people quiet as can be, Not even animal sounds, Looking up seeing sun through the canopy, It's hot and so humid he needs a drink. The road is shaded by the trees, Its cooler on this road a longer way but cooler, Yet sweat still runs down his back and face, It's the final bend not far to go now. Entering the glistening sun it blinds him temporarily, He can see his destination up ahead, Opening the door he walks on in, Heads turn to look at him, He has reached his goal, Now for ...... a pint or two with his mates.
