Twisted Time

When we go out you want to know
What time we’ll be back and where will we go
I say for a meal or maybe a show
We’ll be back soon; we just go with the flow

But when you go out and are going to be late
How come you never reciprocate?
You go out of the door without a by your leave
Are you with Peter or maybe with Steve?

I know you are sensible not easily lead
But the hours tick by and I head off to bed
The clock winks at me; and the hours pass by
I’m starting to worry I just want to cry

I get up for some caffeine free tea
And look at the clock it’s gone half past three
So I return to bed and try and sleep
Each time I turn over it’s at the clock I peep

It’s now half past five and I’m starting to worry
No phone call or text, oh why don’t you hurry
Finally I hear the key turn in the lock
I breathe a sigh of relief and can ignore the clock.

Know the feeling all too well! Had 5 kids, all married now, living their own lives! But while at home and especially during their crazy teenage years, it was constant worry! You brought back good and not so good memories! Loving hugs my twin sister XOXOX
