Ooooh, this is an amazing poem Mike. I have wondered the same thing. I'm sure those that you've been near remember you. Mike came across your poem & reading it felt like a hug, I recently lost my father, his sister & my landlord, so how ironic I came across your poem. It brought to mind an old Eskimo legend that begins, "Perhaps they are not stars, but rather the openings in the sky where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us .. My favorite and to me, the most beautiful line in your poem reads, "So many heartbeats I have known." This is so lovely and so moving.
