Twin Lakes Far Reaching Depth
Two lakes in equal size stand side by side,
separated only by a patch of land.
They were the entrance to our high school.
In the history of muddy waters, clear waters and
tragedies of some falling through the ice, it
was one of my foundations.
In the quicksand of struggles, the droplets of
those lakes finds me now.
The moisture hardens up the ground beneath
my feet just enough to stop the decline.
Am I special? Are my twin lakes special?
Is my hometown New Rochelle special?
No, for everyone may have a foundation
of home, that settles their life.
Or a new one that carries them past the waves.
