Twilight Has Entered My Life

Twilight has entered my life, realizing that the aging process is real and not to be shelved and put away for someone else to contemplate about. Twilight has entered my life, like the sun setting into obscurity, a decline which is not obvious at first, but gathers momentum until it rises the next morning after dawn. Twilight has entered my life, accepting this as a process, no choice in the matter only to keep writing poetry and face the words with a wrinkled smile.

I'm feeling it, Sonia. Poetry is at its best in our twilight years. So much accumulated wisdom!!

Me too, so I know how you feel. We earned each and every lovely wrinkle. I remember looking at my grand-mother's wrinkles and thinking they were beautiful. If we could only be so kind to ourselves.

Line, your empathy is certainly appreciated. I wrote this poem because of a birthday arriving too quickly by next week. It is time to face the words with a wrinkled smile. Thank you, Sonia
