Twilight
TWILIGHT
When the twilight of your years is here
And the sky is only starlit
Think only this of one who loved you dear
How many times I used to sit
And read you tales of times gone by
Or show you clouds as dale and hill
The limit was beyond the sky
The empty void was yours to fill
Did you fill it with all your heart
And not regret the chance you took?
If you did, though heaven falls apart,
Life’s evening closes not the book.
