Thank you, Len. I think that is true. They say that the black walnut has some nutrition that the English walnut doesn't, and the English has some the black doesn't have. The black ones are hard to come by. Sara K

Thank you, Nette. I agree the shells are totally tough. I tried once to shell out some and I had to use a sledgehammer to break the shell and then trying to get the meat out of the broken shell was almost impossible. Sara K

Thank, you, Valsa. They say they are very healthy. They are super hard to shell and get out of the shell. My mother used to use some in divinity candy and in some cakes that she made. My father would get them out of the shell. He even complained about trying to shell them out. LOL..Sara K
