Twenty-Two Swans

Twenty-two Swans
Line the runway.
This years rookies
Practice take offs and landings.
A rapid splash dance
Followed by the whirring sound
Of fiercely powerful wings.
They will be gone soon
Leaving the pond to its ice.
Twenty-two Swans
Check out time is half October.
