'twas the Night Before

'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE 'Twas the night before Christmas And all through the town It was totally quiet Not one little sound The air was still and cold Nothing moved below Everything in town Was covered in snow Then out of the sky Came a large group of Whozits Bringing with them A few thousand Dontdozits They planned to steal All the gifts in the town So on Christmas morning Not a gift would be found Before that could happen Along cameYouaintgonna The hero of heroes From Podunk, Arizona Youaintgonna told the head Whozit Put those gifts where they belong You and the Dontdozits Know stealing stuff is wrong You can't take what ain't yours So I'm sayin' you ain't gonna 'Cause I am the hero From Podunk, Arizona That's how I got my name And you cannot abuse it So you will have to leave Along with the Dontdozits Or you can stay and have some fun When tomorrow rolls around 'Cause Whozits and Dontdozits Are welcome in this town 21 November 2018 For the contest sponsored by Joseph May

: ) Oh my, I simply love everything about this. Your thoughts made me giggle and smile, all at the same time. Hmm, so that's how you got your name? Cute. Everyone knows stealing is wrong, right?? Lol. Congratulations Curtis, on this win. And for making me smile this evening. ~ Brandy

My Dear Brandy, I'm glad I made you giggle and smile, all at the same time. I just returned from a quick trip to Maryland and beat the snow storm that they say is brewing. It's ll:35 p.m. Georgia time and I'm tired but I wanted to say thanks for your response and to wish you a Merry Christmas! Hugs from Georgia!!

Thank you, Jan! I hadn't thought of the Dr. Seuss angle although he is one of my very favorite people of all time. I hope it does well in the contest too.

Thank you so much, Eve for these kind words of encouragement and for buying a copy of my book. It contains 2 editing mistakes. On page 28, the last stanza should read: The choice you make is yours alone Seek the Lord, bow at His Throne It's not too late for you to choose But eternity with Him is what you'll lose On page 134 the first stanza should read: Seven stripes of crimson red Stand for all the blood that's been shed Six stripes of shining white Denote the purity that leads the fight The next printing will have this will be corrected and I'll provide you with a copy containing the corrections. Praying still.
