Twas Ever Thus

Gaping
premature graves-
trenches of war,laid waste,
generations,for whom hope was
no more

Inspired by Paul Nash 1889-1946 Enflish painter

Artist before us have told how war is hell ... but no one has heard ... nor seen the coming of the absurd ... victor and victim extinct at last ... Thanks for your art, and your gifts of friendship and your wealth of learning ... may we not lose the vision that fires our soul.

Powerful combination, your words to the painting. Disturbing, sad, true. Love, Shar

A sad but true observation that is particularly timely here in the states as we celebrate Memorial Day. Excellent write, Brian! Love, Carolyn
