Turnips

Triumphant he eats greens

Tooting his trumpet proud

Tearfully I gathered

Them, my back ached, tender

Tendons, twisted muscles

Those greens were cooked well done

I remember my phase I went through three years ago when I picked dandelion greens to wash and then cook them up. I did not even like their taste, so I quit doing it!! It has been worse though when we had to draw the water out of the well. I am glad that today we have running water. God is good in that we have modern convenient. Thanks for your kind review. I would think dandelions would have a bitter flavor. Turnip greens are good if you get them when they are young. Sara

We are not too much on eating the roots either but I will put a few in there with the greens when there are some but in these spring greens not too many roots and what are there are very small. I can buy them in the store frozen and I am happy. The fresh ones are better but I am too old to be doing all that work. LOL..Your presence at my work is engaging. Sara
