Turning Pages

each page
a solitary story
a compilation
of notes never
played; words
unspoken; they
often linger in
the brain along
with smells of
spices, tastes of
meals, sights of
hils, mountains,
houses, streets,
and people walking
to their own beats
pages of history
jumbled and sorted
by time in space
regions, cosmologies,
languages, tribal
names, dances,
songs, and stories

and in the universal
book of life the pages
keep turning as each
is produced quicker
than the universe
can live it
