Turning 29

In a mist, travelling at the speed of light
Oblivious to what lies beyond my sight
Oblivious to what I left behind,
Hollow the mind that was once my might.

With hope no more than landing the next step
A field of thought shortened and inept
The promise of a code still trying to be kept
A wasted effort, a futile attempt.

Beneath a shadow of the larger me
A tiny man still hilariously keen
A joke a puzzle a riddle or a dream
Less to be and more to seem.

A query thus imbibes on my mind.
Is this the beginning or the end of the line
The transition I know shall take no time,
From an unsettled 28 to an unsettled 29
