Turn Off the Alarm
Breach alarm klaxon blaring
There’s nothing to see ...
just pretend like you didn’t hear
that warning sound
Don’t be alarmed:
Take a couple of these Valium chill pills
to help calm your nerves down
Do you like the soothing, Geiger music in the background,
can I get you anything synthetic
to make your erratic heartbeat soften it’s amplified pound?
You’re in a Purge secure panic room;
chaos-protected from any anarchy seepage,
radioactive harm
Tho’ civilization as we know it
has burnt down —
There’s nothing to see ...
so don’t be unduly alarmed
A fearful leader hit the wrong button,
that’s all ... sparking
a uranium enriched squabble
Some say a societal reset is a good thing,
how a dem dim bulb
made the accidental right call
Lobster lab coats say
there was simply too many ape crabs clamoring —
everybody wanting a big banana chunk of it all
Some forward leaping tech frog,
who wasn’t thinking pond small,
took a backwards Stone Age prehistoric swing
Now we few special survivors
can turn out the lights for a lil’ wink while,
and rest regal like Egyptian kings and queens
Take a nuclear winter nap in pyramid style
So don’t be
claustrophobically
alarmed —
a-keep your fear volume dial tone decibel low
Unauthorized high-pitched voices
will get cast out into the chimera yellow snow
