Turn It Off
Oh why do we all watch the tele
When there’s oh such a lot we could do
We could sit we could talk
Go out for a walk, or paddle our own canoe
There’s that book you’ve not read you could call uncle Ted
You could fix the damned tap that keeps leaking
You could lie on the floor and complete a jigsaw
Or oil the hinge that’s still squeaking
Let’s turn the set off, now I know you will scoff
And I know you will start your complaining
Just give it a go, then maybe, ‘fore you know
You will find you won’t need entertaining
