Turmoil

Swirling winds stir the past-
a confusing situation.
Years long past, fond memories reign,
an intriguing fascination,
but who are the occupiers?

A reach to touch,
intentions vague.
The results are complications.

These hallowed grounds,
not respecting those,
ruination by deception.

Your free verse uses short, unsettled lines and unanswered questions to echo the turmoil of the title. Fond memories contrast poignantly with deception and ruin, creating a mysterious tension between the past and those who now occupy its hallowed grounds.
