Notes About The Poem

The affliction meaning in the Bible goes beyond ordinary suffering. In Scripture, affliction represents pain, hardship, and trials that God often uses to teach, shape, and strengthen His people. For believers, affliction is not meaningless—it is part of God’s plan to refine faith and reveal His purpose.   “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” — Psalm 34:19    I do not want to believe that man’s mistakes of war and starvation of children is a test of our faith.

Turkey Day!

I'm thankful for our Heavenly Father on this Turkey Day~ I am thankful and therefore I pray—Poet


O Gracious God, 
   thank You for breath of life 
for the beauty of creation
   strength to see a new day without strife 
with Your direction, and our appreciation 
   I am grateful beyond words
from my heart and soul
   a journey once-over blurred
today we fill our bowl
   with Your presence that guides us 
the Rock of our salvation
   mercy, hope and love so gracious
let Your wisdom crown upon  
   and Your peace rest on those who suffer
orphans and widows in their affliction 
   provide them with armor of peace and buffer
let it not be part of God’s plan to refine faith 
   and reveal His purpose and may not He send
man’s mistakes more traces of wraith
   may our lives continually reflect on end

Duke Beaufort January 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM Anaya, a wonderful sentiment how lucky we are to be able to experience life. I personally can't imagine that there is a god that has anything to do with us. I don't know where the universe came from, but we are sure just one very very very tiny infinitesimal piece of one drop. In any case, why not enjoy what we have and be thankful...it helps us realize the importance of respect for our planet and all the things and creatures that exist with us. Smiles!! Joe Maverick December 6, 2025 at 3:17 PM Wow Anaya I wish I had the answer.' As It stands I can only offer the 'real things' That I know of God..All else He alone holds.' And yet its easy to say well those people do evil..And gloss over our own faults' I have done stuff I whish i had never when i was in an objective understanding of God.' Maybe thats the danger.? I do beleive having a fixed idea of how God should do things is akin to idol worship though the person will not see it like that yet they have 'cast a god' So thats an idol.'
