Turbulent Sea
Sorrow draws me back to this empty beach.
Where my sons used to frolick in the sand.
Both are lost to me. No longer within my reach.
I'll mourn them forever, my big boy, my little man.
I dwell in limbo, for each day I miss them more.
Sweet freckled noses, and brown puppy dog eyes.
Roar if you must, angry waves upon the shore.
You'll not stifle the wails of their mother's cries.
I curse you, Neptune's thief! You, who stole my sons.
You may as well have drowned me in the depth of the sea.
I'd forgive you without revenge, for taking my little ones,
If only your next tide would bring them safely home to me.
