Tune of the City

The city sings a tune
Around half past noon
The sound of jazz
Always makes me swoon
Like a total spaz

Intricately layered notes
Over blue skies and boats
I sat there awhile
It was cold so people wore coats
But I loved the style

Look in the eye of the sky
The clouds dance and don't ask why
The music consumes my soul
And brings a tear to my eye
In that moment I feel whole
