Tug-A-War

Today it became apparent
While yesterday I wasn't sure
My heart pulled in two directions
A fight to win, a tug-a-war

My first love, my first everything
The past, back to haunt me ounce more
My new love, my new life
Another game of tug-a-war

Another tear shed
Another lie said

When finally the truth is spoken
I am no longer sure
Which way my heart will pull me
In this game of tug-a-war

My life now seems so bleak
What am I still here for
Torn apart at the seams
Please end it, this tug-a-war

If it was really meant to be
Wouldn't it still be
Or maybe we just don't see
That it wasn't meant to be

That's all it was
It is no more
In this game
Of tug-a-war
