Trying to forget u

My life, empty
My heart, pained

Popping pills down my throat
heart racing, blood boiling
as I indulge myself in carnal desires

Drown another glass
seeking thrills on the
fine line that separates life and death,
hoping to forget u

Another whiff(overdose)
only to stay high
high enough to not see u

As ur memory eat away my days
it's just another sign of my failure,
my failure to keep u,
my failure to have u,
my failure to desire to live,
maybe only then, in death
will I forget u

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts about a sad reality through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
