Notes About The Poem

There is a time for everything

Trying To Adjust

Trying to Adjust

God, I'm asking you to help me
With my lost love and my trust
You took my life's love from me
Now I'm trying to adjust

You brought her to me years ago
When we needed each the most
Our marriage was ordained by You
We were the guests, You were the Host

I understand the why you took her
You had to stop her suffering
I know I never can replace her
She was my all my everything

I feel you struggle with me
As I try to move along
You've pulled me closer to You
I worship You again in song

You have blessed me with good neighbors
With good friends and family
Your love for me surrounds me
Without You here, where would I be?

I know patience is a virtue
A little faith is all I need
Even mountains can be moved
With faith, the size of mustard seed

I know I should not question.
You have always done me right.
I must believe and trust in You
To help You get me through this night

When You decide the time is right
You will open up the door
Show me the way and light my day
It will be then and not before

Amen

Sad and yet you wisely have accepted God’s will. Through suffering, we learn, even if we know it not.
