Truth, Songs, and Laughter

I love you for the truth you've helped me see,
and for the loving way you look at me.
I love you for the kindness you have shown;
the comfortable togetherness we've known.

I love you for the songs you made me hear,
the times my troubled heart was wrapped in fear,
bright songs of hope that chased away despair,
and brought a smile I hadn't known was there.

I love you for your laugh, your happy ways,
the joy we've shared, and the fun that's filled our days.
I love you for the pride you make me feel in you,
a woman of strength, and my ideal...

A love that makes me stretch and bloom and grow,
the finest kind of love a heart can know.

Hi Deb, sorry be so long responding, I've been in the hospital. This poem is one of many inspired by people I love, memories of those I have loved that have now passed on. These poems tend to just flow for me, they seem natural and come together easily. Yes, she cried. Thank you for your kind words. I'm catching up, I want to get to some of yours as soon as I can. Take care, Ron

Hi Beyl, many of my poems are inspired by those special to me, friends, family, loved ones, they are probably works that are most authentically me. They flow and never have to be forced. Thank you again! Ron

Joyce, I'm glad you liked this one. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. While poetry comes from inside us, we write as much for our audience as we do for ourselves or sites like Poetry Soup would not exist. Thanks again. Ron

Hi Douglas, thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you like what you found in my poems. Honestly, I know nothing of poetry forms and styles, I just write what comes from my heart and a great deal of the time that is in the form of lyrical, rhyming stanzas. Thank you again.

So beautifully romantic, passion is romantic but just as awesome, if not more so, is feeling pride, respect and admiration toward one's fav companion. best friend, confidant and sharer of truth while growing and going thru life together. The trust is beyond need of mention just as delicious is when served a filet minion or a lobster, or both - getting silly now. To truly be known and loved as known is the greatest. Loved the read, it echoes the love I share with Tim. Sent u soup mail.

Hi CayCay! It is good to hear from you! I'm glad you liked this. When love, romance, respect and trust coexist it is wonderful but sadly all too rare in our world today. Hopefully poetry showing it can and does happen can make our world a better place. Thank you for your kind words My Friend. Ron
