Truth of a Candle

A flickering flame shines the blame
A righteous life denies the claim
Cast your shadow on the wall
Spoken truth triumphs all.

Visions inspire as the flame grows tall
Hope invigorates and will dance on the wall
The flame is calm as the candle burns
Both tears and laughter will take their turns.

This is such a lovely poem - imaginative and thought provoking - we light candles a lot at Easter in the Greek Orthodox Church! Poetry hugs, Jennifer
