Truth Is My Reward
Truth is a treasure
hid in the sand
I’m always gonna keep
digging and digging
Flashing my searchlight,
looking and looking
I’m forever on the treasure hunt
Being a truth prospector is hard work,
you gotta go sift thru a lot of dirt
Caked up lies, built over time ...
buried so deep,
making the truth so very hard to find
But when you hit the mother lode
Eureka!
Found truth is pure gold
Truth is my reward,
veracity is my prize
But it takes a lot of hard work
digging thru a mountain of lies
It’s spiritual backbreaking work,
sifting through a ton of dirt falsehoods
to find those nuggets of golden good
So please, when you bury me
alongside my shovel,
shed no tears of grief ...
I’ve dynamited a lot of devils
I will always keep digging for the truth,
ain’t gonna let some hard dirt lies
discourage me
Not when there’s treasures to be found
hidden underneath my feet
Truth is my reward —
I’ve staked my claim ...
I truly hope you find yours
