Trust

Neither my dog nor I can walk that far
Really wish I had a car.
You see, I am still seeking my star
It is not here
I fear
Gathering memories from days gone by
Even ones that make me cry
I have come far
Seeking that star
My legs grow tired
Thoughts of love keep me inspired
All I ever desired
Someone to talk to
When I feel blue
Growing old
I have been told
Is a part of life
Hard to avoid the strife
Looking for a place I might belong
Same ol song
Sitting here beside my dog Jin
Thinking of all the places I have been
Alone since I cannot remember when
Making my way
Towards a better day
So much beauty to see
What does it mean to be free
A refurbished heart
Gave me a new start
From the world I stand apart
Lost
Pain was the cost
But here I be
What a sight to see
Another day
Stumbling along my way
What can I say
Have came so far
Seeking my star
Stepping past the moments meant to hold me back
Just life on the attack
One day closer to reaching my goal
I stand before you with a clean soul
In life I was tossed aside
From life, I guess I hide
Cause I have tried
To love
To trust in God above
To trust that my future lies somewhere before me
A place I cannot yet see
But I go forwards
Towards
A distant star
But it is ever so far
I sure need a car
