Trust
Opening
your heart to others
is risky;
leaving you
completely vulnerable,
when your walls come down.
Beyond hope
and rarer than love,
trust is earned
over time;
granting it unrestricted
access to your heart.
Like a key,
trust unlocks your heart
and leaves you
unguarded;
susceptible to fake friends;
who can now hurt you.
