from the insatiable green –
fanfares of summer

AGnes. since I can't find a new poem from you, I revisited this lovely Ku. WAs this for that HUGE haiku contest that was going on all summer? Sure would like to know who wins it. I think this could be a great contender.

I wrote it "just because", but don't remember whether I entered it in a contest. I have been so busy lately and not written all that much.

thank you, Andrea. The growth here in summer is so lush and spreads everywhere, it's like a green monster devouring the world.

Thank you, Paul. No, where I live, summers are hot and humid, and my least favorite season. Can't do anything outside.

Thank you, Heidi. Those grow where I live, and I always find they look very tropical and slightly out of place for the Midwest.
