True To Myself

I've never been one to follow others like sheep
I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe
Not loved by everyone
but I strive for goodness truth and peace

I fight against injustice
and provide a voice for those
who cannot speak
A protector of the victimised 
and the weak

I may at times
swim against the tide
for what I know is right
I often make mistakes 
but my conscience
is clear when I go to bed at night

Don't judge me if you don't know me
I'm not going to change for anyone but God
There's much more to me than you can see

But what ever I am
I try to be anyone else
But Me.

Peter What an honest and sincere write. Gives the reader a lesson on being themselves and not what others in society what you to be. People should respect others for who they are, and not try to change them. Great write

Thank you so much Robin. I was not trying to make out, I was something special I'm not. I wrote because just as you say,people tried to tell me what to do.I don'y mind advice,and to some extent, I'm willing to change, but perfect or no, don't bring me down.
