" FRIENDSHIP" MY PHOTO, ©
" Are we really friends ?"
My best friend asked me the other day.
"The best there are!" I emphatically replied.
" If we are what you say " he went on,
" How come, you and I, refer to our
individual existence as 'I' and 'you' or as
'myself' and 'yourself' and to our possessions as
'mine' and 'yours' as though we are
something distinct from one another?" then
In a very serious voice he added:
" I really wonder about the magnitude of our friendship
which tells us that we are one soul inhabiting
two bodies."*
Hearing all this I was puzzled so, after some awkward
Moments of silence, I dared to ask:
"How would you address me then? "
" As me in your body " was his immediate reply!
