True Freedom
There I was, like a worker bee.
Like an inmate, longing to be free.
There I was, filled with dedication and zeal,
convinced that my belief was the real deal.
There I was, working hard for something
I already had; paying for something that
was paid for me in full, both free and clear.
The work was not a chore nor laborious to me.
I loved it because of the end result of my workings.
In a sense, I was giving all of my life for eternal life.
It took me 5 years to realize the greatest truth ever known.
In spite of my willingness and loving zeal toward my God, and
the joy it brought to me, the fact remained that I was in bondage.
But the light of Christ came on and has been burning in me until now.
