They warned me about you;
I believed it wasn't true.
If I had listened to them,
I may have missed this mayhem.
Now I'm confused and wonder why
I stay up all night and cry.
You hurt me more than you'll ever know;
I'm dying inside, trying not to let it show.
I have to keep telling myself, keep repeating
That I'm thankful for our chance meeting.
You've taught me about myself, loss and love;
I thought I needed help, but I needed a shove.
Because I used to be scared about meeting someone,
And now everything has become undone.
I took a chance when I fell for you,
And now I'm wishing there were things I could undo.
Because of you, I will never be the same;
You should hang your head in shame.
All I did was care about you,
And you couldn't even be true.
In time, my heart will mend;
On you, I will no longer depend.
Did I mean anything to you?
You don't know what you've put me through.
You used to hold me so tight,
But in the end, nothing felt right.
It will be hard getting over you,
Because I know my feelings were true.
