Trish

They found her body
And took it from the graveyard;
The rain washed her blood,
Cleansing the place of all signs -
But does her soul still linger?

Where did this happen? I want to know more about this one!! It's a tragic story and brings about interest in the reader to see it in this little tanka poem.

Good question to end your Tanka with Jack.. The death is always a tragedy, but the unknown adds to it as well! All the best for the contest ;) lfde

This is quite the sad story Jack! It's hard to believe that we live in a world at which stuff like this happens...and to top it all off, in a cemetery! I don't think her soul lingers there still, that's just my opinion, she's somewhere else by then! I love your write! Great Work!!

Ah, you told me about this spirit. I do believe she is lingering there for a reason, Jack, just don't know what it is since the killer was caught. Great tanka for Susan's contest! Winning wishes for you. Love, Carolyn
