Tribute To One Beloved
Stained with the dust of the tomb,
And yet engulfed by the starry powder of heaven;
Years attempt your thought to dull,
Yet it never can this do this worthless leaven,
Even if it were to erase your character divine
Heaven would issue tearful shrieks of woe,
As the stupor of men swooped by stale wine.
Beyond my feeble reach stay in godly peace
Till again I behold your glittering face
When I'm thrust into eternal bliss,
As happened to you a year and half ago.
