Tribute To Nyla and Her Mother
She was a confident young woman
as a thirteen-year-old
One of the luckiest women in the world
Because her mother understood
She was never thrown out of her home
She was nurtured and loved
Dresses with glitz and glitter were purchased
She is known as Nyla
I am a friend of her mother’s
Her mother is the wisest woman in the universe
She knew that Nyla was a woman
Before Nyla knew
She nurtured her and dressed her and loved her
Nyla is one of the most famous transgendered women in Kansas City
She has been on talk-shows, encouraging and uplifting the youth
Who were thrown out of their homes by hard-hearted, close-minded parents.
