Tribute To Jean Michel Basquiat
This intelligent artist had internal incongruity
Brilliant genius prancing around in his head
Was he having a psychotic break?
I followed him to outer limits well fed.
Unlimited by one language,
He could read and speak at least three
I followed his production, his enthusiasm
Amazed as only another artist can be
Is he the young guy who paints in Armani?
My too-damned socialized art teacher said.
I ignored his ignorance naturally.
This guy’s dendrites were disconnected, dead.
Heroin gave him a leg up, as any true drug user would know.
Jean-Michel ‘s insight gave his art a distinctive style and rhyme
He knew what he was doing also with the famous SAMO
His cleverness pranced around, making this poet smile big time
