Tribute To Glenn Miller Orchestra

I’ve got a girl in Kalamazoo,
sing Miller, Swing Miller, Ding Miller doo…
Moonlight cocktail anyone?
Glenn’s orchestra is on the run.
come on down. Let’s have some fun!
boogie Doogie Moogie Hoogie. Choo Choo Choo
Chattanooga if you want to know.
play something spunky and jazzy, please nothing slow.

American big band king
take those dolls and make ‘em swing
from thirty nine to forty two,
no one was finer or more fun than the likes of you!
an Iowan, like me, I am proud to say.
that old black magic has had her say.
swing Miller, sing Miller, play play play!
you are just as current as you ever were "back in the day!"

When you wish upon a star,
Pennsylvania Six Five thousand, you can’t go far!
what’s my function? Tuxedo junction!
Rhapsody in blue, how do you do?
swing baby, dance, just me and you!
Glenn Miller’s big band will never be through.
U-tube makes sure of that. Boogie Boo Boo.
Glen Miller and his Orchestra, I truly love you!

Beautiful tribute, Caren:-) I love Glenn Miller. My favorite composition of his is "In The Mood." It's definitely worth "tangoing" to!

I love everything about Glenn Miller and am thrilled I can claim him as an Iowan like me and Andrea.

This is a fun poem and great tribute. I remember someone introducing me to it many years ago. Very well done. I hope all is well :)

Have you seen "The Glenn Miller Story" with June Allyson and Jimmy Stewart? I watch it all the time!

A great tribute to Glenn Miller, Caren. His music and other bands of the big-band era will live forever. The only place I can listen to decent music now-a-days is via Direct TV on their music channels. This so-called music today (noise) is offensive to my ear! Can you imagine dancing cheek to cheek with this el crappo? Bob

I have not understood the words to songs since the 80's.

Caren, you brought Glenn Miller back to life and reminded me of all the tunes I have loved and danced to over the years. Shout-out to U-tube!!! Enjoyed this immensely!

Reminds me of the film featuring James Stewart and June Allyson. Too bad Glenn Miller was a casualty of WWII.
