Tribute To Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu

May we not forget (Odumegwu Ojukwu) May we not forget the Great Ikemba The great pavilion of the igboland Who gave us shelter and refuge when Gowon and his co-horts broke the Aburi pact And came as predators to attack us. May we not forget Eze ndi igbo gburugburu The junior brother of moses Who like his senior brother Left his father's ocean of wealth He wandered in the wildernes Of the Nigerian Army Where he prepared himself for the great task ahead. May we not forget Ikemba and his disciples Just like the good leader he was He was in all battle field with them Even though the blood thirsty bullet of the enemies Created a mighty in them Yet they marched forward with their lion heart Just to secure our freedom Many women became widows Many women became childless Many children became fatherless Many lost their dear sons The all paid for our freedom with their lives Oh! May we not forget them. May we not forget ojukwu For thirteen long dreary years He dwelt as a stranger In Ivory Coast. May we not forget the father of the Ibos May we not forget him Let's always remember his pains just to make us free.
